Will Super Eagles overcome Cote d’Ivoire and win the cup again?

The three times that the Super Eagles won the Africa Cup of Nations, they avoided defeat to Cote d’Ivoire. Is history trying to repeat itself?

En-route Nigeria’s first win in 1980, they played goalless draw with Cote d;ivoire. When they won again in 1994, they eliminated Cote d’Ivoire in the semi-finals.

On their way to winning in 2013, it was au revoir Cote d’Ivoire in the quarter-finals. Already, Cote d’Ivoire have tasted the bitter pill of defeat from the Super Eagles in the current edition.

A win again this Sunday night confirms the assertion that Nigeria wins the cup when they avoided defeat to Cote d’Ivoire.
