Nigeria Premier League Super 6 gets to midway point today

The ‘festival of football’, the Nigeria Premier League Super 6 play-off gets to midpoint today by the time the second match of the day gets under-way.

Enyimba, who have taken the lead will have perhaps their stiffest battle when they face the yet to be beaten Bendel Insurance in the first match starting at 2pm.

A win by Enyimba will certainly be a major breakthrough for the club as they will be within the bracket of those jostling for continental ticket.

Bendel Insurance currently at the fourth position will have to do more than pulling a draw, a trait they had established since having their last win of a league match last 12 April when they defeated El Kanemi Warriors 2-1.

Ever since, they have had a chain of 10 drawn matches out of 11 in the league.

The second match of the day will be a ‘Star War’ and South West derby as Remo Stars will attempt to have their first win when they face Sunshine Stars.

On goal log, no other team has scored as much as Remo Stars have grossed after two matches. They have scored four goals.

Sadly, they also conceded as much as they had scored and will attempt to right their wrongs if going continental again is their ambition.

Lobi Stars and Rivers United will take to the field in the last match of the day.

Day 3: June 6th

  • Bendel Insurance Vs Enyimba FC – 2pm
  • Remo Stars Vs Sunshine Stars – 4pm
  • Lobi Stars Vs Rivers United – 6pm
