FLYING START FOR NIGERIA’S FALCONETS AT AFRICAN GAMES

Nigeria’s Super Falconets extended their dominance over South Africa’s Basetsana after inflicting a 3-0 defeat on the South Africans in their opening Group B match of the football event of the African Games in Morocco on Saturday.

The win gave Nigeria a momentary lead of the Group D ahead of the Cameroon versus Zambia match.

The Nigerian side made hay while the sun shone as Gift Monday put the Falconets ahead after just five minutes.

They increased the tally in the 41st minute through Zainah Olapade before substitute Cynthia Aku wrapped it up in the 65th minute.
