Country Manager of La Liga in Nigeria, Mutiu Adepoju, is uncertain about the future of Barcelona B Nigerian winger, Ezekiel Bassey.
The former Akwa United attacker joined Barcelona B team on a six-month loan deal from Enyimba in January, with a provision to make it permanent for two-year duration.
However, Bassey didn’t play a single game for the FC Barcelona B team as they got promoted to the Segunda division.
“I have not heard too much about him. I know he went on loan to Barcelona and I believe the loan period has expired in June,” Adepoju, a former Super Eagles’ midfielder said.
“I don’t know what will happen because it depends on Barcelona, he was on loan so that Barcelona can see him.”
Adepoju, who was snapped up by Real Madrid B from Shooting Stars of Ibadan in 1989 after a fantastic outing at that year’s World Youth Championship (now U-20 World Cup in Saudi Arabia, is the current Country Manager, La Liga in Nigeria.
“I don’t know if he has satisfied them in what they were looking for, as I don’t have anything official.”
