Libya Takes The Lead in Nigeria’s Group!

Libya made a bold statement Friday night as the group stage of 2019 Africa Cup of Nations got underway. In the Group E comprising Nigeria, South Africa, Libya and Seychelles, the Libyans easily won their opening game 5-1 against Seychelles to take control of the group.
The score line undoubtedly put both Nigeria and South Africa under pressure as each will need a wide score line to upstage Libya at the top of the table. Anis Mohamed Saltou put Libya ahead in the 23rd minute.
Four minutes later, the Libyan had a penalty kick which Ahmad Benali converted. Almost at the dot of half time, Hamdou El Houni increased the tally to 3-0.
In the 66th minute Mohamed Zoubya made it 4-0 for Libya before Muaid Eliafi made it 5-0. Seychelles’ Leroy Coralie pulled a goal back for his side to make it 5-1 at the dot of 90 minutes.
