Hayatou Lands In Addis Ababa

CAF President, Issa Hayatou, on Monday night arrived Addis Ababa, Ethiopia the venue of the 39th General Assembly of the confederation. The high point of the event will be the election holding on Thursday.

According to the AIPS Africa President, Mitchell Obi of Nigeria, Hayatou was welcomed by members of his executive committee at the Sheraton Hotel where he is lodged. The AIPS president reports that Hayatou’s presence sets the tone for the last minute political pyrotechnics that will usher in the electoral congress of the continental football body.

Delegates from other countries have been pouring in and the countdown is expectedly on for the feisty fight for control of the game’s leadership mantle in Africa.

    I will be very disappointed if Issa is voted in again as CAF president. The voters should please note that African football needs a breath of fresh air.
