It was triumph over adversity for Cote d’Ivoire’s Sebastian Haller. Not only did his team experience a dramatic turn-around in the competition, his own story is quite emotional.

He is a cancer survivor! Just two years ago, he was diagnosed with testicular cancer which he has now overcome and returned to profession football in January 2023.

He had earlier been called up for Cote d’Ivoire four years ago and debuted in a 2-1 win over Madagascar.

He was honoured at the Qatar 2022 World Cup by FIFA and AIPS.
