Sports journalist extraordinaire, Paul Bassey is African Club Association Vice Chairman

Paul Bassey, chairman of Akwa United who had an outstanding career as a sports journalist has been elected as inaugural vice chairman of the newly formed African Club Association, ACA.

At the inauguration of the association, formed under the auspices of Confederation of African Football (CAF), Hersi Said, President of Tanzania outfit, Young Africans was elected as the chairman.

Also elected along with Nigeria’s Paul Bassey is Kaizer Chief’s Jessica Motaung who will be the first Vice Chairman.

The African Club Association inaugural meeting was chaired by CAF President of CAF Dr Patrice Motsepe who saw a need for African Football Clubs to have a platform and a structure where they can have a voice in African football.
