National Institute for Sports holds memorial lecture for Awoture Eleyae

In honour of the first principal and chief executive officer  of the Nigeria National Institute for Sports (NIS), Dr. Awoture Eleyae, the training institution is organising a memorial lecture.

The event is slated for Wednesday November 22.

According to the Director General of the NIS, Prof. Olawale Moronkola, the lecture holding at the Gymnasium Hall of the Institute at the National Stadium, Lagos complex, will be delivered by Prof. Florence Bola Adeyanju, president of Nigeria Association for Physical & Health Education, Recreation, Sports and Dance (NAPHER-SD)

The paper to be delivered is titled “Repositioning physical, health education and sports in Nigeria for national development: Building on the legacy of Dr Awoture Eleyae.”

Dr. Eleyae was a former Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Sports in Africa (SCSA) from 1992 to 2004. He died on 21 July in Benin City, Edo State.
