All Nigeria’s AFCON opponents play friendly matches this weekend

Just as the Super Eagles’ preparations get in full swing tonight with friendly match ahead of the twin preparations for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers and the finals of 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, so also are  their three Group A opponents doing.

Super Eagles will face Saudi Arabia this evening in Portugal.  In similar vein, Equatorial Guinea are also hosting Burkina Faso tonight as preparations for AFCON enters full swing.

Another Group A opponent, Guinea Bissau are facing Guinea, also tonight. Initially, the plan was for Guinea Bissau to play against Mozambique. But the fixture was cancelled and replaced with that of Guinea.

The biggest of the friendly matches will see Cote d’Ivoire hosting Morocco on Saturday. Cote d’Ivoire have also scheduled another friendly match for Tuesday against South Africa.
