Rivers United to play Confederation matches in Uyo

Like it was the last time, Nigeria’s sole surviving team in the Continental club tournament, Rivers United will play all its group phase matches of the Confederation Club competition played at the Goodswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.

This ultimately mean that the  Adokie Amasiamaka Stadium in Port-Harcourt, from where the team reached the group phase will not stage any of the matches.

The Pride of Rivers qualified for the group stage of the competition after they defeated Etoile Filante of Burkina Faso 2-0 on aggregate.

The home game against the Burkinababes was played at the Adokie Amasiamaka Stadium.

This was contained in the circular from CAF to all federations on Tuesday  following the non-approval of its Port Harcourt group which also hosted all the league matches of the former NPFL champions.
