Expectedly, Morocco have been awarded the hosting of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations finals on Wednesday, replacing Guinea who were stripped of the right to host the tournament last year.

It is a result of well co-ordinated campaign backed by good facilities and excellent organisational ability of the Kingdom of Morocco.

The north African country was a runaway favourite and as CAF President, Dr. Patrice Motsepe remarked in a post announcement conference, “it will also boost the African candidacy, which Morocco represents, in the hosting of the 2030 World Cup.

Morocco is part of the triple bid that has Spain and Portugal. So the award of 2025 Africa Cup of Nations will see the decision as a boost to their hopes of co-hosting the 2030 World Cup with Portugal and Spain.
