CAF Women’s Champions League: Nigeria’s Delta Queens ousted

Just like the two Nigerian men’s team were ousted from the CAF Champions League at the weekend on home soil, it has gone from bad to worse for Nigerian football as Delta Queens failed to qualify for the 3rd edition of the CAF Women Champions League. after losing to Ghana’s Amem Daroa.

 

And thus, it has been four in a row that Ghanaian  teams have edged Nigerian sides out of major competitions in a space of 18 months.

Recall that the Ghana Black Stars edged the Super Eagles out of the World Cup just as their home based side also did the same for the Nigerian side in the qualification for the African Nations Championship, CHAN.

Last Sunday, Ghana’s Medeama edged out Remo Stars from the CAF Champions League. Now,  by a Ampem Darkoa Ladies have forced another bitter pill down the throat of Delta Queens.

So for the first time in three editions, Nigeria will be missing out in the CAF Women’s Champions League holding in Cote d’Ivoire.
