When Cristiano Ronaldo got injured in the epic Arab Cup final and could not help his team against Al Ettifaq in the opening matchday of the Saudi Pro League, he opted to do something unusual to show his support for his Al Nassr teammates.

Ronaldo tweeted in Arabic pretty much for the first time. He wrote: “النصر بمن حضر.”

His tweet translated as: “Victory comes to those with a winning attitude”. It is actually an adaptation from the club’s motto which has not been used for a while.

As for the game, Sadio Mane opened the scoring early on for Al Nassr but Ettifaq, coached by Steven Gerrard and captained by Jordan Henderson, found their way back in after the break by scoring two and ultimately winning 2-1.
