FIFA clears former Shooting Stars’ player’s German-born son, Torunarigha for Super Eagles

Nigeria’s quest to change the nationality of Jordan Torunarigha for the Super Eagles has been approved. The player is the son of a former Shooting Stars player,  Ojokojo Torunarigha who emigrated to Germany and played for Chemnitzer Fußballclub from 1991 to 1995 and scored five goals in 77 matches for the club.

He played for the Shooting Stars of Ibadan in the late 1980s. His son, Jordan was born in Germany on 7 August 1997 and he currently plays for Belgian side, Gent.

He had previously played for the same club his father featured for, Chemnitzer Fußballclub  in Germany. He also played as a defender for Hertha BSC in Germany.

 

The decision of FIFA’s Single Judge of the Players’ Status Chamber regarding  the former German Youth Player was approved following request made by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
