When the Super Falcons face Canada in their opening Group B match in Melbourne in the early hours of Friday morning, the Nigerian team will be without the services of two of their prolific players.

In the disciplinary preview released by FIFA, both Rasheedat Ajibade (shirt number 15) and Halimatu Ayinde (shirt number 18) are declared suspended.

Their suspension is due to expulsion they got in Nigeria’s last matches at the Women Africa Cup of nations last year in Morocco.

Both players were sent off in Nigeria’s semi-final match against  Morocco in the semi-final clash. Ayinde was expelled in the 48th minute while Ajibade got her red card following  her second yellow card after VAR review in the 70th minute.
