Morocco striker Younes Taha says they are ready to face any side in the semi-finals of the ongoing  CAF U23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023 after their commanding display at the group stage.

The attacker scored the lone goal to help host nation defeat Congo 1-0 in the match played in Rabat and secured the maximum nine points to finish top of Group A.

Taha, who went on to win the TotalEnergies Man of the Match award, expressed his happiness at fulfilling the team’s first objective of winning all the matches and reaching the semi-finals.

“We have fulfilled our initial goal of three games played and three wins. Our focus is now on the semifinals of the competition.”

He emphasized that the team is ready to face any opponent in the semifinal stage and has no preference. “We are close to achieving our first goal, which is qualification for the Olympic Games. There will be four teams on the starting blocks, but only three will have the opportunity to be there,” he added.
