When Sierra Leone host the Super Eagles in the Match Day 5 of the Africa Cup of Nations 2023 qualifiers on Sunday, the Leone Stars will be without two of their star players.

Winger, Alhassan Koromah who scored the second goal in Sierra Leone’s 2-0 defeat of Sao Tome & Principe last March in Agadir, Morocco has been suspended for the match against Nigeria.

He was cautioned in the 21st minute of the  match against Sao Tome & Principe before scoring seven minutes later to cushion Sierra Leone’s victory.

But the yellow card was the second one he had received. In the match day 1 with Nigeria in Abuja last year’s June, Koromah got a yellow card in the 67th minute.

Koromah is one of the foreign based players of Sierra Leone and he is a winger for Spanish lower division side, Real Balompedica Linense.

Also to miss the crucial game with Nigeria is Ron Gardy Williams, a forward and captain of Mighty Blackpool in the domestic league.

When he was cautioned in the 72nd minute of the match against Sao Tome & Principe in Agadir, it was the second yellow card.

In the previous match on the same turf, he got a yellow card in the 2-2 draw with Sao Tome & Principe.
