Celestine Babayaro makes case for Elegbeleye and IMC continuity

As the curtain falls on the Nigeria Football League for this season on Sunday, a former Nigeria and Chelsea defender, Celestine Babayaro has hailed the league as the best ever in recent time.

In a voice note made available to Sports Village Square, the former Olympic gold medallist remarked: “I want to use this opportunity to congratulate  Hon. Elegbeleye for the tremendous change in the Nigeria Premier League.

“Since taking over, the league has not been the same. As a players’ agent, I speak with players playing at the moment and also ex-players.

“Everybody has been saying the same…that the league has not been the same Everything has changed. Hon Gebnga and his team have brought joy to the faces of Nigerian population

“When I heard that Gbenga Elegbeleye has taken over the Nigerian Premier League, I was not surprised . I knew him when he was the Director General of the National Sports Commission.

“I saw the way he did things. I knew the NPL will have a different face.  With him, given the opportunity, he would change the everything… the way the system is run, the way the Nigerian league is handled.

“He will make sure the league is recognised , not just in Nigeria, but in Africa and the whole world.

Gbenga, all I can say is, keep up the good work the sky is the limit for you and your team. “
