Remo Stars came twice from behind to hold eight-time Nigeria league champions to a pulsating 2-2 draw as the Nigerian league championship took off at the Lagos waterfront stadium, Mobolaji Johnson Arena.

After a goalless first half, Enyimba went ahead in the 60th minute through Adiele Eriugo. Remo Stars fought back and brought in Junior Lokosa  who brought more bite into the Remo Stars’ offensive.

He soon levelled up for Remo Stars in the 77th minute. But three minutes later, Enyimba were awarded a questionable penalty kick as Chijioke Mbaoma was fouled at the edge of the penalty box.

Emeka Obioma took the resultant kick, and he calmly converted the ball in the 78th minute as he took his tally to 15 goals for the season.

Enyimba apparently feeling the job was done began to wind down the clock. But their hearts were broken when Remo Stars’ captain tapped in from close range from a free kick.
