By twists of fate, virtually all the six bidding countries to replace Guinea as the host nation for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations are brought together in one group at the on-going U-17 tournament in Algeria.

The bidding countries are Morocco, Zambia, Algeria, South Africa and a joint one by Nigeria and Benin Republic.

Four of the countries are currently in the Group B of the U-17 tournament. They are Nigeria, Morocco, South Africa and Zambia.

The four are gathered in Algeria, another candidate for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. The only absentee is Benin which is teaming with Nigeria as joint host.
