Badminton: First Shuttle Time Nigeria Clinic ends in Remo, Ogun State

The Badminton Federation of Nigeria (BFN) sanctioned Shuttle Time Nigeria Clinic has been concluded in Ilisan, Ikenne Local Government Area of Ogun State.
Held at the Ilisan Community Town Hall, 17 secondary schools participated. The programme, powered by Community Sports and Educational Development (CSED) was to mark the International Day of Sports Development and Peace.
At the end of the programme, the CSED which has been championing grassroot development of sports in many remote parts of Nigeria offered badminton equipment to the participating schools.
The equipment included badminton rackets, nets and shuttlecocks. The programme saw the Shuttle Time Coordinator training the physical education teachers of the participating schools in fitness exercises and basic skills of badminton.
They are to impart the same skills to their students who are projected as future champions in Nigeria.
Schools in attendance include: Abeokuta Girls Grammar School, Christ the Redeemers College (Sagamu), and Simawa High School who joined 13 others that participated on the opening day of the clinic.
The 13 schools that featured in thhe opening day are: Aunty Fola Group of School (Ilisan), Al-Lateef Muslim College (Ilisan), Christ Apostolic Grammar School (Iperu), Regal New Heights (Sagamu), Isanbi Model College (Ilisan) and Highbrow College (Ilisan).
The others are Mayflower Schools (Ikenne), Dee Unique College (Ilisan), Ilisan High School (Ilisan), Methodist Comprehensive College (Sagamu), Community Grammar School (Lemo), and Isanbi Comprehensive High School (Ilisan).
The clinic was attended by Badminton Federation of Nigeria (BFN) members and members of badminton family in Nigeria like Obiageli Solaja (BFN Events and Organising sub committee Chairperson), Mrs Onikopo Adebayo (Vice Chairman, Ogun State Badminton Association), Adewale Olasukani, (Badminton Head Coach, Ogun State), Mrs Grace Asagba , (former African Badminton Champion), amongst others.
