Super Eagles get face-saving 1-0 win over Guinea Bissau to top the log again

Super Eagles of Nigeria are back on the top of Group A table of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations after a hard fought 1-0 defeat of Guinea Bissau on Monday night.

The 1-0 win from a Simon Moses’ penalty kick avenged an earlier defeat inflicted on the Super Eagles in Abuja last Friday.

The win has also ease the pressure on the Super Eagles who before the match were just a point ahead of third placed Sierra Leone.

Nigeria will go to the next fixture with Sierra Leone with a four point cushion as Sierra Leone currently have five points as against Nigeria’s nine.

A point could see Nigeria qualifying ahead of their last home game against an already eliminated Sao Tome and Principe.
