Sports Village Square can report that Guinea Bissau’s Djurtus have arrived Dakar in Senegal where they are in transit before their departure to Abuja on Wednesday.

They will be meeting the Super Eagles of Nigeria in match day 3 encounter of the Group A of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The encounter will be the third ever between the two teams who had met in October 1960 when Guinea Bissau was known as Portuguese Guinea and again last year when they met at the group stage of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Garoua, Cameroon.

Nigeria won both matches; 4-1 in 1960 and 2-0 last year.

The Guinea Bissau’s Djurtus will spend the night in Dakar, and this afternoon they will have a training session. Tomorrow Wednesday 22nd March, they will proceed to Abuja in Nigeria. They had their launch at 1.30pm today.
