Former international and administrator, Ekeji mourns Ismaila Mabo

Former Director General of the National Sports Commission, Dr. Patrick Ekeji has expressed sadness over the death of Ismaila Mabo, a former Nigerian international and coach of the women’s national team, the Super Falcons.

Ismaila Mabo passed on on Monday night after a brief illness. Ekeji, also a retired Nigerian international player before venturing into a wide spectrum of activities in the sports industry described Mabo as a delight to watch as a footballer.

Mabo captained the Mighty Jets at the zenith of the club’s glorious era, leading it to the Nigerian Challenge Cup finals of 1972 and 1974.
