Which of the stars will shine brighter – the Ikenne based Remo Stars or the invading Shooting Stars of Ibadan? That is the high point of the concluding part of the NPFL match day 3.

Remo Stars who have been having a good run since last season and undoubtedly the best prepared side in the pre-season era will hope that their excellent run so far is not truncated.

Shooting Stars in winning the NPFL four-team preseason tournament are the sides with the biggest prize money in Nigerian football in recent history.

The N100 million prize money won last December should equip the side with enough resources to run a fairly successful season.

Afterall, the New King James Version of the Book of Ecclesiastes 10:19 NKJV  says : “money answers everything.”

Will that come to play in this midweek potentially tough match? While Remo Stars are aiming to continue their winning run and tie with current table-topper, Bendel Insurance, Shooting Stars  are gunning for their first full point of the season.

After impressively taking the lead three times in their opening match away from home against Plateau United, they only came out of the game with a 3-3 draw.

They shot blank in their next game at home against tenants, Kwara United to come out of the game with another draw. This Wednesday’s duel is potentially a dicey one for them as they face a technically and well organised Remo Stars.

Last season, Gbenga Ogunbote was in charge of Remo Stars. This season, he has moved to Shooting Stars. His technical knowledge of Remo Stars’ players and their mentality could prove crucial.

Remo Stars who have played most of their last matches without arrow-head striker, Andy Okpe will no doubt be relieved of the return to action of the lanky striker.

Gombe United had a taste of the razor-sharpness of this often well-positioned striker when he came in as a substitute to nod in the back breaking goal that has put Remo Stars in vantage position to contest the leadership of Group A of the NPFL.
