Tunisia recorded an historic 1-0 win over France in the last Group match of  Group D of the World Cu. It was the first time they had beaten France in a Grade A match.

Sadly, it was in vain as they need Denmark to either hold or defeat Australia in the corresponding Group D match played simultaneusly.

As if by simulation, while Tunisia scored through Wahbi Khazri left foot, Matthew Leckie also found the net for Australia against Denmark.

France featuring nine reserved players owing to their picking qualification ahead of the game were forced to introduce Kylian Mbappe and Antoine Griezmann for a rescue mission.

Griezman did score in stoppage-time but it was  ruled out for offside by VAR.
