Ronaldo becomes first player to score in five World Cup editions

Cristiano Ronaldo has put behind the travails of his misadventure at Manchester United. When he slotted home a penalty kick in the 65th minute of the Group H match with Ghana, he became the first player to score in five editions of the World Cup.

His goal was also a milestone one for Portugal as it was the 50th World Cup goal for the country.

The additional two goals took Portugal’s goal haul at the World Cup to 52.
