It may have just been a dream for Wydad Casablanca to just qualify for the group stage of the CAF Champions League, it turned to a nightmare for Nigeria’s Rivers United whose name were almost fully spelt with goals.

At the end of what turned a misadventure, they unexpectedly went six goals down in Morocco.

With seven goals conceded over two legs, Rivers United will now join Plateau United in seeking a place in the second-tier CAF Confederation Cup via play-off.

The draw for the play-off will hold later this week.
