Eddie Hearn names two opponents who Anthony Joshua ‘must’ fight

Anthony Joshua has been told that he should fight former opponent Dillian Whyte and finally meet with long-term rival Deontay Wilder after his devastating loss to Oleksandr Usyk this past weekend.

Usyk defeated Joshua for the second consecutive time with another another brilliant performance last weekend. Joshua performed much better than he had in the first fight, but it was not enough with the quicker Usyk able to outbox him once again, with the Ukrainian reclaiming his heavyweight title belts and is hoping to go on to face Tyson Fury in a unification bout.

For Joshua, though, he’ll now be out of the title picture for some time, and will need to rebuild his stock after two losses to Usyk in which he was simply outclassed.

An opponent he could face which would immediately see him back amongst the top fighters, would be a fight against the two men named by Hearn.

Speaking on the DAZN Boxing show, Hearn said: “I see the Dillian Whyte fight as a must-make fight. I see Deontay Wilder as a must-make fight. And I also see him fighting Tyson Fury because it’s still a monumental fight.”

Joshua and Wilder have had a long-standing feud since 2017, with both fighters calling each other out after victories. However, no fight has ever materialised.

Whyte, meanwhile, gave Joshua a tough fight back in 2015, before AJ knocked him out in the seventh round with an uppercut.
