Lionel Messi may return to Barcelona next year if the dreams of Xavi, the club manager come true.

Spanish news outlet, Diario Sports reported that the former club mate of Messi has asked the club to make possible the arrival of the Argentine in 2023 when his contract at Paris Saint-Germain expires.

The coach has a good relationship with Messi and thinks that, despite his age, he could play a key role on the team.

Xavi believes that Messi would help Barca in terms of creativity and goals. Besides, Leo’s return would benefit the club financially.

Barca are considering the option. They might like the idea of Messi finishing his career at Camp Nou.

As per previous reports, PSG planned on extending the 35-year-old’s contract beyond 2023. The forward, however, is yet to make a decision over his future.
