No African team has featured in more matches than the Super Falcons in the history of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

This Monday, they go into their 60th match while their opponents, Morocco will be playing for the 11th time since the competition’s opening game in Kaduna 24 years ago.

When Ghana’s Sheila Okai scored an 80th minute goal against the Super Falcons in Johannesburg in 2000, to put score line at 2-2, it was the first time Nigeria drew a WAFCON match.

Two years later, Ghana’s Alberta Sackey scored a 33rd minute goal against Nigeria at the Warri Township Stadium on 10 December 2002, it was the first time Nigeria lost a WAFCON match.

It was also Nigeria’s first defeat in Africa after 28 matches across all competitions.
