Road to normalcy appears to have been charted as the court case which has held up the conveyance of the Annual General Assembly of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) may be withdrawn.
Sports Village Square gathered that the representatives of the NFF Executive Committee last Friday met with the players’ union under whose auspices, the court case had been filed.
A compromise was reached and the litigants agreed to withdraw the case. Consequently, a meeting of the players’ union on Monday at Hotel Reno in Abuja resolved to withdraw the case to enable the NFF Executive Committee to summon the Annual General Meeting to discuss the way forward for Nigeria football.
It will be recalled that the Federal Government on Monday through a letter written from the offices of the Sports Minister had directed the NFF President to begin moves that will lead to election in September.
