Nigeria consolidate grip on Afcon Group A as Sierra Leone forced 2-2 draw with Guinea Bissau

The Leone Stars of Sierra Leone, playing at home in Conakry Guinea had to fight back from two-goal deficit to hold visiting Guinea Bissau 2-2 in the other Group A match of the Africa Cup of Nations played on Monday.

The drawn match means that Nigeria with six points and a surplus of 10 goals, sit atop of the group. They are trailed by Guinea Bissau who have four points and a surplus of four goals. Sierra remain in the third position with the single point obtained from their home game.

The visiting side who last Thursday beat Sao Tome 5-1 to take a temporary lead in Group A were in the offensive mood as they socred two goals in quick succession in the second half.

Left winger, Jorge Intima scored in the 47th minute and doubled the lead five minutes later. The two goals put a heavy load on Sierra Leone. Augustus Kargbo reduced tally in the 77th minute while Musa Noah Kargbo levelled up 10 minutes later.
