The Sierra Leone team facing the Super Eagles in the Group A of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers  arrived Abuja last Saturday.

The team is composed of 25 players and 29 officials. They arrived via Lome, Togo and lodged at the Sandralia Hotel.

The team to be led by new captain Steven Caulker  who is based in Turkey. They came earlier in order to have a five day period of acclimisation in Abuja and have a feel of the Moshood Abiola stadium.

Super Eagles are going to the match on the backdrop of not winning any of their last five matches.

The last time Leone Stars and the Super Eagles met in a Nigerian soil was when Sierra Leone remarkably came from four goals down to draw 4-4 in a 2021 Afcon qualifier on 13 November  2020.

The return leg in Freetown four days later ended goalless which was the last meeting between the two teams.
