Morocco have ousted Ghana from Women’s u17 World Cup

Ghana hoping to qualify for all FIFA World Cup finals have been stopped by Morocco on Saturday in the qualification for the Women’s U17 World Cup holding in India.

Earlier, Nigeria’s Flamingos had through the thickness of their skin scaled through by holding a determined Ethiopian side to a goalless draw in Abuja after a soul-lifting 1-0 away win.

As for Ghana, they  went to Rabat, Morocco with a 2-0 first leg advantage.

But the Moroccans, an emerging force in women’s football in Africa, got their opening goal in the 15th minute through  Fatima El Ghazouani.

In the second half, they capitalised on a blunder by the Ghanaian goalkeeper,  Afi Amenyeku to double their lead courtesy of Samya Mansaoui in the 47th minute.

The Moroccans had then levelled up. With no more goals, the game went into penalty shoot-out and the Moroccans won 4-2.
