Nigeria’s Super Eagles will no longer play Mauritius in the Africa Cup of Nations 2023 qualifiers on 13 June.

This is sequel to the upturning the initial victory that Mauritius had against São Tomé and Príncipe at the CAF Disciplinary Committee level on 8 May 2022.

The CAF Appeals Committee has now upturned the decision and restored São Tomé and Príncipe as Nigeria’s opponents. It was stated that after hearing both parties’ presentations, the CAF Appeals Board ruled that:

–       The Appeal of São Tomé and Príncipe Football Association is considered admissible in form.

–       The Appeal of the São Tomé and Príncipe Football Association is upheld and the decision of the CAF Disciplinary Board is set aside in its entirety.

–       The result of match between Mauritius and São Tomé and Príncipe is ratified and validated.
