CAF to address stamped and deaths at Cameroon vs Comoros game

Continental football rulling body, CAF has reported its knowlege of the deadly stampede that ensued before the Comoros defeat by Cameroon at the Olembe Stadium on Monday.

Im a press release, CAf  stated that it is investigating the situation and trying to get more details on what transpired. We are in constant communication with Cameroon government and the Local Organizing Committee.

The CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe has reportedly sent the General Secretary, Veron Mosengo-Omba to visit the injured supporters in hospital in Yaoundé.

Hosts Cameroon are through to the quarter finals of the  Africa Cup of Nations Cameroon 2021 following an eventful 2-1 victory over Comoros.

Karl Toko Ekambi gave the Indomitable Lions lead just before the half hour mark with a neat finish inside the area.

Captain Vincent Aboubakar doubled their advantage 20 minutes from time before Comoros captain Youssouf M’Changama pulled a goal back from free kick.
