CAF throws out Tunisia’s protest at AFCON
BY KUNLE SOLAJA
Tunisia’s dreams of seeing their controversial 0-1 loss to Mali overturned and replayed has been dashed, The Organising Committee of the Africa Cup of Nations Cameroon 2021 has decided that the result of the match should stand.
It is however silent on the Zambian referee, Janny Sikazwe who threw the match into confusion after initially blowing off the game at 85 minutes 11 seconds instead of at 90 minutes.
When he chose to continue the match, he again ended it some 35 seconds to full time. Tunisia who refused to come out again to complete the few seconds remaining, protested as they wanted the entire match to be replayed.
