Almost in the tradition of the FIFA World Cup, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has launched  the match ball for the delayed 2021 Africa Cup of Nations holding in January 2022.

As part of the countdown to the event which is on its 33rd edition, a match ball has been launched.

It is named “Toghu” after a traditional outfit that is very popular in Cameroon.

Ir will be used by the 24 teams during the 52 matches to be played at the competition between 09 January 2022 and 06 February 2022.

Made by Umbro, ‘Toghu’ is a multi-coloured and finely embroidered outfit. A ‘Toghu’ was initially designed for Royalty in the North West region of Cameroon but has since been adopted Cameroonians as an outfit for special occasions.
