Paris Saint-Germain’s Brazilian star Neymar is a doubt for the Champions League clash with Manchester City on Wednesday with a hip injury.

After starting his country’s World Cup qualifying victory over Colombia, Neymar missed the goalless draw with Argentina on Tuesday and returned to France having complained of pain in his left thigh, although he was reportedly spotted partying in Sao Paulo in the meantime.

The 29-year-old has undergone scans back in Paris and was absent from training on Thursday, and according to L’Equipe the results have revealed some damage to his adductor muscles.

The injury means he will definitely miss PSG’s Ligue 1 clash with Nantes on Saturday afternoon and he is now a serious doubt for the trip to face Man City in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

It’s a big match at the Etihad, with the two financial behemoths battling it out for top spot in Group A and just one point between them as it stands with two matches to play.

The Cityzens currently lead the way, and Neymar‘s potential absence will give them more belief that they can seal top spot on the night with a win.

PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino will be boosted by the returns of Marco Verratti and Presnel Kimpembe, who were both back in full training on Thursday – as was summer signing Sergio Ramos, who is in line to make the matchday squad at the weekend having finally overcome the injury problems that have plagued him during his time in Paris so far.
