Cameroon on Tuesday night became the latest African qualifier for the playoff for the World Cup 2022.

After a hard-fought battle, they eliminated arch rivals, Cote d’Ivoire by a lone goal to scale through.

The lone goal was scored by Karl Toko Ekambi in the 21st minute. With that, the field of 10 group leaders is completed. Those that qualified for the play-off are: Algeria, Nigeria, Egypt, Cameroon, Ghana, Dr Congo, Morocco, Senegal, Mali and Tunisia.

The 10 teams will be drawn into five two-legged ties with the aggregate winners representing Africa at the World Cup  finals in Qatar.

Confederation of African Football spokesperson told Reuters on Tuesday that no date had yet been set for the draw, but it would likely take place in January.
