Tyson Fury, an avid supporter of Manchester United has warned that the town is not big enough to accommodate him and football superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo.
The boxer who on Sunday morning beat his major rival Deontay Wilder to retain his WBC heavyweight title hopes to have his next title defence at Old Trafford, the home base of his favourite football club.
According UK newspaper, Mirror, Fury has hinted that he would like to bring a world title bout back to his home country, having fought Stateside in his last five.
“It has always been a dream of mine to fight at Old Trafford. The last fight there was Eubank versus Benn in 1993 and that was massive.
“I’m really happy Ronaldo’s back at Old Trafford. Hopefully we win the league this year, but he is definitely going to score goals, we know that.
“But this town ain’t big enough for the both of us!
“If I lived in Manchester it would be a problem. But I’m an hour up the motorway in Morecambe so he’s got plenty of distance.”
Fury is a huge fan of Ronaldo, labelling him ‘the GOAT’ in response to the 36-year-old picking up the Player of the Month award for his first back in English football.
Meanwhile, speaking after his dismantling of Wilder, Fury added that he feels capable of beating anyone and everyone in the division.
The Manchester United supporter said his dream was to headline a show at Old Trafford and warned Cristiano Ronaldo there is only room for one superstar in the city.
“I have two fights left out here but I’d love to bring a world title fight back to Manchester,” he told the Sun last week.
“When it comes down to it, when I have to pull the chips out, every time I’ve delivered. I can only be the best of my day, I’ve done that: I’m the best fighter in my era,” Fury said.
“I actually feel sorry for all these guys who have had to fight me because I go in the dressing room and I’m not nervous, it’s a boxing fight to me, but they’re fighting the fighter of the generation, that’s for sure.
“Without sounding too sharp and clever, I believe that I could beat any man in history, any man born I believe I’ve got a really good chance of beating him.”
