Nigeria will attempt to consolidate on the lead when they face Cape Verde in an away match on Tuesday.
The Tuesday match may also mark the entry of Ahmed Musa into FIFA Century Club as the match will be his 100th for Nigeria.
He came in for Kelechi Iheanacho on Friday in was his 99th international match.
