Maverick manager, Jose Mourinho is not wasting any time planning for his arrival in the Italian capital as he plans to reunite with some former United players.

According to Mirror of UK, fringe Manchester United star Donny van de Beek is on the Portuguese’s  ‘wishlist’ when he joins Roma.

The Special One will take over from Paolo Fonseca at the end of the season after he was sacked from Tottenham  a fortnight ago.

And he isn’t wasting any time planning for his arrival in the Italian capital as he looks to raid his former club Manchester United.

Am Italian outlet, Calcio Mercato, claims van de Beek is one player that Mourinho is targeting but it could cost the Serie A side €30m.

Reports in Italy suggested last month that Roma were interested in a swap deal for van de beek  with Nicolo Zaniolo, but Roma were not willing to include him in any deal.

But it seems they have reignited their interest in the Dutchman following the appointment of Mourinho.

Midfielder van de Beek has mightily struggled since arriving at Old Trafford from Ajax last summer and United could look to cut their losses with the 24-year-old.

Mourinho is also looking to reunite with experienced Man Utd duo Nemanja Matic and David de Gea.

That’s according to Sportitalia which claims Matic is a priority signing as he looks for a holding midfielder.

The 32-year-old had two years left on his current deal but has slipped down the pecking order in the centre of midfield behind Fred, Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay.

Corriere della Sera also believes Mourinho will look to strike a loan deal for de Gea who has lost his No.1 jersey to Dean Henderson.
