South Africa’s Bafana Bafana coach, Molefi Nseki has become the first post Africa Cup of Nations qualification series first casualty after he was sacked for not being able to qualify the team for the continental premier football competition.

He was dismissed in the wake of a disastrous final two matches in qualifying – at home to Ghana and then away to Sudan – from which they got only one point.

In the aftermath Ntseki admitted that he was “very much aware of the emotional pain we have caused all South Africans.”
