Sudan’s Al Merrikh who inflicted a 3-0 defeat on Enyimba in the first leg of their second round CAF Champions’ League duel have sneaked into Nigeria via the Enugu Airport.
Sports Village Square learnt that the Sudanese had kept to their chest, their travel plans thus frustrating the NFF protocol officials who had intended to receive the team in either Lagos or Port Harcourt.
In frustration, the NFF had sent a protest later to CAF, complaining about the Sudanese antics as they failed to arrive via Egypt Air flight on Saturday as they had earlier indicated.
But in a tweet, the Sudanese team announced its arrival on Sunday morning at Enugu aboard a private jet, Al Zaeem. They planned to take another flight to Owerri before connecting Aba by road.
Enyimba will host Al Merrikh on Wednesday.
