EUROPA LEAGUE DRAW: ARSENAL TO PLAY RAPID WIEN, MOLDE AND DUNDALK AT GROUP STAGE
Premiership side, Arsenal have been drawn with Rapid Wien (Austria), Molde (Norway) and Dundalk of Ireland in Group B of the Europa League 2020/21 campaign.
Arsenal will play their first game on October 22.
This will be the first time that Arsenal will be playing against Rapid since 1991 when the Gunners won their home fixtures 6-1 and losing away 0-1 in the then European Cup.The Gunners have never played the Norwegian Molde or the Irish Dundalk. While there’s no such thing as ‘taking lightly’ with Mikel Arteta, we suspect the Spaniard will view the group stages as an opportunity for rotation.
The group stages will kick off on October 22 and the last game will be played on December 10.
The tournament as a whole will stretch to May 26 – the date of the final in Gdansk.
The group stage action gets underway in three weeks with a reminder of the six match-days:
- Matchday 1: 22 October
- Matchday 2: 29 October
- Matchday 3: 5 November
- Matchday 4: 26 November
- Matchday 5: 3 December
- Matchday 6: 10 December
