BARCA PRESIDENT, BARTOMEU CLOSER TO EXIT GATE

The end of the reign of the embattled president of FC Barcelona, Josep Maria Bartomeu is now very apparent.

According to Spanish outlet, Tribuna, Barcelona have started the process of validation of the ballots in the vote of no confidence submitted against Josep Maria Bartomeu and the board.

Only 2-3% of the first few hundred signatures to be checked have turned out to be invalid, Catalunya Radio say, which is a good sign for those who want the president out.

In total, over 20,000 signatures have been submitted, meaning that it would take about 20% of signatures to be invalid in order for the process to fail.

If the required number of valid signatures is met, the club will hold a referendum to determine whether the club members want Bartomeu to leave.

If everything goes smoothly, Barca could have a new president and a new board by January.
