A TALE OF TWO CITIES: LEICESTER AIM AT BEST EVER START AS MAN CITY SEEK TO WIN OPENING TWO GAMES

Two cities go into confrontation as the English Premier League begin to gather momentum. Manchester City are seeking to emulate Leicester City by winning their opening two matches.

Yet, the visiting Leicester which will be without Nigerian midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi will be aiming to achieve their best ever start to a Premier League season.

Ahead of all the Match Day 3 games, they were table toppers before Everton’s 2-1 away win at Crystal Palace on Saturday pushed Leicester to the second position. It will be seen how they can regain the top position with an unexpected away win at Manchester City.

Leicester City have lost their last four fixtures at the Etihad Stadium home ground of Manchester City. It is a clash that will see Algeria’s Riyad Mahrez facing his former club as Manchester City are seeking to emulate Leicester City by winning their opening two matches.

However, Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Gabriel Jesus will be sidelined for up to a month with a muscular injury and that fellow striker Sergio Aguero (knee) remains out.

Bernardo Silva, Oleksandr Zinchenko (both muscular) and Joao Cancelo (foot) also picked up injuries on international duty earlier this month and are doubts.

Leicester’s Wilfred Ndidi could be out for up to 12 weeks with an abductor injury. But Jonny Evans is available to return following a three-match suspension and after recovering from a thigh problem. 

Ricardo Pereira with knee injury also remains out.
